Rainy Day Style!

Hello gals! ^__^ Happy Saturday! Not so happy for me, because this gloomy weather has really been bringing me down lately! It rains almost every day here in Michigan! Is anyone else's area like this as well?

If it is, don't worry! Just because the sky is gloomy doesn't mean your outfit has to be too! It's still possible to look cute on a cold, rainy day. Here's how:

The key to rainy day dressing is layering! We want to keep warm while we're outside, of course. An obvious element to layering would be the classic cardigan. A knit cardigan will keep you all warm and toasty :)

However, we can add more excitement to a cardigan by belting it or choosing one with a feminine detail, like ruffles, lace, or fur.

Wearing cardigans over and over can get tiring, so a poncho is a unique and interesting option!

 Fringed ponchos are really in!

However, if you're not too crazy about ponchos you can try an oversized kimono cardigan.

A classic trench is always a good idea for super cold days! Trenches look classy with a dress & tights underneath, or a pair of sleek jeans.

For a bold new spin on the classic trench coat, why not try out a cape? WARNING: Not for everyone!

Now you might be wondering, "What about clothes for underneath all these layers" Well, we can just keep it simple with any basic pretty blouse. For bottoms, anything will be fine. Even shorts, if you put tights underneath! Longer skirts seem ultra-cool on rainy days!
Finally, to tie your rainy day outfit together, you must find an awesome pair of boots! Try to avoid high heeled boots (you don't want to slip and fall!). Look for wedged boots or boots with a thick, low heel. Flats are fine too!

Above all, the most important item to have on a rainy day is an umbrella!

Quick Bang Review

Another hair review! -__- This'll be the last one for a while, I promise! This one is about a bang that my mom ordered that was originally for her. She didn't like it, so she let me have it.

☆ Product Info ☆
Brand: Yilu
Style: Clip-On Bangs
Material: Synthetic
Color: Black
Price: $5.99 w/ Free Shipping

I was not feeling very photogenic this day, as you can tell.. -__-

I actually don't think the bang suits me very well. :S I think it makes my face look very round and kind of hides me away! In the photo, it doesn't look that bad, but that's because I kind of pushed the bangs to the side a bit. From the front, it looks natural (I think), but if you were to look on top of the head, you would see that it was fake. I don't like how it simply sits atop of your head. It's a bit hard to mix in with your natural hair. You can kinda see what I mean here:

In general, I'm not really a fan of this bang. It's really heavy and isn't easy to mix in with your natural hair. I think it would look better on somebody with very thick luxurious hair!

Recent Buys

Hello! Happy Sunday! Hope you enjoyed your weekend~  I'm just going to share some things I purchased yesterday!

Firstly, I went thrift shopping at Plato's Closet again haha~ I bought this sweater, which is originally from Forever 21. It cost $8!

I also bought this pink plaid dress, which was originally from Victoria's Secret's clothing line, PINK.

At first I was a bit iffy about it, but it quickly grew on me! On the back, there's a cute rhinestone decor. I really love the ruffled bottom; it's so cute!It cost $14.

After Plato's, I went to Forever 21 in search of a bronze-colored necklace. This is what I picked out from their 30% off sale. Everyone head to Forever 21! :O

Close up:

It was about $9! If you like this necklace, you can purchase it here if you don't live near a Forever 21!

Thrifty Buys

Happy friday! This is just going to be a short post about a couple things I bought from the thrift store today. Actually, about half the clothes I own are thrifted! ha~

Firstly, I bought these shoes for $14.

(They look a bit worn out, but aren't really that bad!)
They are from the brand Xhilaration, whose products can normally be found at Target stores here in the U.S.! Normally, I'm not a fan of pointed-toed shoes, but the studs really just captured my heart. :3 I think, however, that I bought them a size too small, because it makes my toes look like this:

I really don't like flats that show the lines of my toes like that. They only had one pair though! The shoes are a bit tight/uncomfortable on my feet, but I suppose they're okay.

Anyways, I bought some jewelery, including this adorable Rilakkuma ring!

(pancakes lol~)
Also, I bought a pearl necklace and a cute monkey necklace. :3

Finally, I purchased this bracelet with a doggie on it! I don't normally wear bracelets very much, but I thought it was cute. I love the bow on it!

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!

Just an Idea~

Hey there! For a while now, I've been thinking of creating a YouTube account and making make-up and hair tutorials and stuff like that. The theme would be, "Beauty on a Budget"; which would be all about looking glamourous while not spending a ton of money! I don't like spending $30 on just a simple eyeshadow. I think it's dumb to buy a $50 facial lotion. Why should you have to pay more for ''fancier'' products, when you can buy a product that will give you the same result, but for $20 cheaper? That is my mentality.

However, I just don't know if I will get a lot of viewers! I'm a bit boring and drab, and not really glamourous like a lot of the YouTube gurus out there! I don't have money to go buy new products every week. Also, I don't know what I would call my channel. The name "beautyonabudget" is already taken! :/ Any suggestions?

Do you think it would be a good idea to create channel like this?

Yilu Ponytail Hair Extension Review

Hello! This is a bit of a late post. My Yilu ponytail extensions came about a week ago. They cost $7.99 with FREE shipping! :D

Here's the product info:
  • Brand: Yilu
  • Color: #1B (black)
  • Hair type: Synthetic
  • Style: Clip-on
  • Texture/length: Straight/long
Like I've stated before, I originally ordered 2 because I thought that they would be thin. However, I was surprised at the thickness! It was a really full ponytail. ^__^ Very soft too, and it didn't look synthetic at all. Some camwhore pics:

Not very good pics; I look messy after a long day at school!

There are 2 downsides to this ponytail. Firstly, it seems to tangle a bit easily, and it's not very easy to brush! I guess it's okay, but I was surprised that it tangled so easily while being so soft!

Secondly, the securing clip is not very secure. xD I know it's only there for a little extra support, but I would've liked if it at least snapped down. Observe:

In conclusion, the pro's and con's to this ponytail weigh about equally. It's a good ponytail, but you probably shouldn't excercise or jump around in them! In general I like them~

Halloween 2011!

Hello! What did you do for Halloween? ^w^ I went trick-or-treating with my friend. I'm such a little girl! It's a bit sad, I know.. but it was nice! We recieved a couple of snide comments though >__> ..

Anyways, I went as a Princess Kitty :3 Originally, I wanted to be a lolita but no store had any lolita costume :( Plus, I only had $25 to spend! u__u The outcome of my outfit was a little bland; I just put on a pink top and skirt to match the kitty accessories.

(sexy kitty...? nooo~)
My friend Taylor has been my bestfriend for 4 years! She's pretty funny, as you can tell:

... Yup.

Anyways, about trick-or-treating. It was literally zero degrees celsius outside, so I lost all the feeling in my hands. :( When people offered me candy, my fingers fumbled around before I could grab one!

Me freezing my ass off.
Finally, this was my make-up for the night. I wanted to go with a pink theme~

Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed your Halloween
